In this post, we’ll begin to discuss the details of these individual Materia Medica frequency programs, starting with the first 10. Don’t worry, the following posts will cover the remaining Materia Medica frequency programs.

1. Aconite (Aconitum napellus)

Plant/Flower

Also known as:

  • Monkshood
  • Wolf’s bane

Native to:

Western and central Europe

Treats:

Sudden or acute cases of fever or fever-like symptoms like tingling, coldness, numbness, congestion and headaches; local cases where the area is red, dry and hot like a sore throat; emotional cases of fear, anxiety, shock, restlessness, or a panic attack.

  • Known as one of the main painkillers in homeopathy

2. Allium cepa

Plant/Vegetable

Also known as:

  • Onion

Native to:

Central Asia

Treats:

Cold, allergy and hayfever symptoms like sneezing, runny nose/eyes, coughing, hoarseness, headaches and sensitivity to light

3. Antim tart (Antimonium Tartaricum)

Rattling cough with difficulty breathing and inability to expel mucus; feelings of tiredness or irritability; nausea, sweating or vomiting

4. Apis mel (Apis mellifera)

  • Western Honeybee

Native to:

Africa, Asia, Middle East and Europe

Treats:

A variety of skin conditions like hives, shingles, cellulitis, contact allergies, beestings, inflammation, etc.

6. Arnica

Plant/Flower

Also known as:

  • Mountain tobacco
  • Leopard’s bane

Native to:

Treats:

Physical injury or trauma; best used to treat and prevent pain, inflammation, bruising, shock, etc; can also be used for jet lag and disorientation

9. Bryonia (Bryonia alba)

  • Wild bryony
  • Wild hop

Treats:

Pain, soreness, arthritis and stiffness; constipation, upset stomach, nausea and vomiting; stomach, intestinal and metabolic disorders

10. Calc Carb (Calcarea Carbonica)

Also known as:

  • Calcium carbonate

Treats:

Mobilizes calcium and strengthens bones. Most commonly used for infants and young children; used for coughs, colds, sniffles, headaches, fear and anxiety; used for fears like the dark, monsters, spiders, etc.
